## What is a social meal service?

A social meal service ensures that people who are unable to cook for themselves (any longer) receive fresh, healthy meals. At the Thuisgekookt Foundation, this also means that you will be put in touch with a volunteer home cook from your neighbourhood, so that you not only eat healthily, but also get to know your neighbours a little better.

## What does a home cook do?

A home cook voluntarily prepares a healthy evening meal once or twice a week for a neighbour who finds cooking difficult – perhaps because they have a chronic illness, a disability, or feel lonely. You don’t need to be a chef to help someone. If you’re cooking anyway, you can make a big difference with very little effort!
