Every day we receive requests from people who could use some extra help about the hot meal or who are looking for more contact in their neighborhood. After we have mapped out all their wishes, we look for a home cook who fits. Have we received a request from someone who lives in your area and who matches your chef profile? Then you will automatically receive an email or phone call with all the details. You can check per request whether you can and want to help that neighbor or not. Would you rather start cooking immediately? Then offer a separate meal yourself, you can read below how that works.

Your meal will be ordered faster if you add a good (preferably one of yourself, but at least a royalty-free) photo and describe the dish as extensively as possible. This way applicants know what to expect and your meal will be picked up by a hungry neighbor in no time.
If you offer a meal, an email will be sent to all your neighbors who are registered with Thuisgekookt. If you offer a meal at least 3 days in advance, your meal will appear several times in the e-mails and it is more likely that they will be ordererd.
If you, as a home cook, offer a meal on thuisgekookt.nl then it is of course nice if one or more enthusiastic neighbors come over immediately, but that is not always the case immediately. We are happy to give you some tips to increase the chance of collectors!
In principle, it is intended that people who collect them bring their own container. However, in times of corona it is nice if there is as little physical contact as possible between the collector and the home cook. We therefore recommend that you purchase a number of disposable containers, for example, so that collectors can safely collect a meal from you.
In addition, most meals that are shared via Thuisgekookt are served warm. Do you prefer to share the meal cold? Write it in the description. In this way people without heating options know that they should not order your meal.
The siza of a portion, of course, depends on the type of dish you are making. An average portion on Thuisgekookt is 500 grams.
If you start working as a home cook, you will in principle cook voluntarily and offer meals for the cost price. Yes, this may be based on the costs for groceries with a little extra for gas, electricity and the olive oil that you already had in the cupboard. Most meals that are shared are between € 4 and € 6. We see that more expensive meals are collected less often.
If you still want to ask a higher price - because you cook with only organic products or very special ingredients, for example - then it is nice for collectors if you explain why that is in the description. On the website, a Home Cooked contribution of 10% per portion is automatically added to the price you have chosen. For example, if you, as a cook, offer a meal for € 4.00, a collector must then pay € 4.40. Home cooked is there for neighbors. Not for companies or commercial parties. In principle, there is no income for home cooks, if you follow the guidelines of Home Cooked. You do not have to report anything to the tax authorities.
Thuisgekookt is responsible for the platform we have set up to share meals. We therefore do everything we can to provide everyone with the correct information. Home cooking is not liable for any consequences arising from the sharing of meals or contact between neighbors.
As a home cook, it is very important that you adhere to the established hygiene and food safety guidelines, especially if you cook for people with vulnerabilities. The home cooks themselves are responsible for compliance with those rules. We trust that the home cooks who join Home Cooking will do everything they can to provide a safe meal.
We dont like rules so we have as few as possible. To avoid misunderstandings, we have drawn up some house rules and you can find our Prevention and Integrity Policy here.

Using the button below you can search for the meals on offer in your area. Do you not immediately find something to your liking here? Then click on the "save search" button (top right) so that you will receive an email if something is offered in your area that falls within your search query.
You can pay for a meal in cash, via iDEAL or with a U-pass. After selecting your meal and the number of portions you want to order, the meal will be added to your shopping cart. Click on "to checkout" and then choose the way you want to pay.
Do you want to receive regular meals from a regular home cook because you are temporarily or for a long time in a situation where you could use some help around dinner?
We will find a suitable home cook for you that suits your needs and put you in touch with that neighbor. Back to what used to be very normal: neighbors who take care of each other!
Call 085-0608768 to get in touch with one of our community managers. On the basis of an extensive intake in which your (diet) wishes are discussed, we can look for a suitable cook.
Depending on the wishes of the applicant and the home cook, mutual agreements are made about this. You can pay in cash, by bank transfer or via the U-pass.
We ask for the reason for an order because we must be accountable for our activities to our financiers. Without the subsidies from municipalities and national funds, we cannot keep the website up and running and (vulnerable) people cannot help find a home cook. It is important for them to know the main reasons people have for picking up a meal from us, so that they in turn can assess whether the money is being sent to the right place. All data they receive from us is anonymized.
It is not possible to cancel a meal via the website. In the unlikely event that you cannot pick up a meal, it is best to contact the home chef in time and discuss the options with him / her.

Because we cannot view or transfer passwords for security reasons, you must reactivate your new account. You do this by going through the following steps:
The agreements you have made with the people for whom you cook one or more days a week are of course still running, but cannot be seen on the new website for the time being. This is because we are still developing the underlying pages. Your appointment and payment will therefore continue to run via the old website for the time being. Do you want to cancel a meal or view the payments? Then you can log in to oud.thuisgekookt.nl. The old website will remain online for the time being. Because we have switched to a new website from a new provider, our mails may end up in spam. It's a technical story, but it basically boils down to the need to build a reputation first before we are no longer seen as spam. This will take some time, but will be fine by itself.
Various home cooks were still using the Thuisafgehaald app. This has unfortunately been taken offline, because the new website no longer connects to this. Unfortunately, we cannot immediately launch a new app. However, the new Thuisgekookt website can also be used on your phone or tablet! A new app is certainly still on the schedule, but we have to wait a while. By first testing with the mobile website, we find out what must-haves are for the new Thuisgekookt app and we can spend the budget we have for this as well as possible.
